Diversity at Hamilton County DD Services
We regard diversity in employment and service-delivery as an important organizational value that helps fulfill the agency's mission of supporting individuals and families to achieve what is important to them.
Diversity at Hamilton County DD Services pertains to understanding the unique and varied cultures and backgrounds of individuals with disabilities and their families and those whom we employ.
Initiatives
A diversity audit of Hamilton County DD Services was completed in August 2011. Results of this audit are being used to shape some new initiatives to support the agency's focus on diversity.

Meet some of our staff!
 Raeshell Harrison
Raeshell is a Direct Service Specialist at Jackson Adult Center. She started working with people with disabilities in New Jersey with her aunt, who shared her home as a homecare provider. She worked there for five years and loved it. When she came back to Cincinnati, a friend suggested she apply for Hamilton County DD Services. She got the job and loves it.
Stacy Espinoza
Stacy is a Service Facilitator in the Northeast Region. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in mental health counseling. She started working with people with disabilities as a program assistant in a group home and was briefly a job coach before taking a job as a Service Facilitator.
Andrew Riley
Andrew is a Cost Projection Tool Service Facilitator. He does funding for the Southeast Region and specializes in dealing with the cost projection tool. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Cincinnati Christian University. Andrew started working with people with disabilities at the church camp in which he grew up. The camp had a few weeks of camp for people with disabilities and Andrew really enjoyed working during those weeks. He started out in one of the adult centers before moving to a Service Facilitator position, and then to his current position.
Lisa Sweeney
Lisa is a Service Facilitator for the Southeast Region. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology and women's studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She got into the field because she wanted to work with people in a tangible way with the hope of improving their quality of life and to contribute to her community.
Jan Zeiser
Jan is a Physical Therapist at Rost School. She was a special education teacher at a school in Florida, which is where she became interested in physical therapy (PT). She saw first-hand the benefits of PT and wanted to be a part of it. She and her family moved to Cincinnati, where Jan enrolled in the PT master's program at the University of Cincinnati. Not an easy task with three young children at the time- two in elementary school and one six month old! She has been at Rost for several years and loves working with the students.
Ernest Norman
Dale is a Hab Spec II at Kidd Adult Center. He has a bachelor's in education from University of Cincinnati, and a master's from Marygrove College in Detroit. He got into the field after working in mental health in California. He started in 1989 at Geier House, then transferred to Jackson Adult Center and was a workshop specialist before becoming a classroom assistant/habilitation specialist. He transferred to Kidd Adult Center in 2000 and has been a Hab Spec II ever since.
Mario Studaway
Mario is an Instructor Assistant at Bobbie B. Fairfax School. He has a bachelor's in industrial technology and a master's in manufacturing engineering. Mario got into the field when living in Rochester, New York, when he was hand-picked by an assistant principal to be a one-on-one with a student. After that, he know this was the field for him.
Michelle Catching
Michelle is a Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department. She has a bachelor's in business administration/computer information systems from the University of Louisville. As an IT professional, Michelle has worked in several fields, from insurance to manufacturing. She loves working with computers, but wanted a job where she could contribute more to people instead of the bottom line. That is how she was led to the agency, where she supports staff working with people who receive services.
