Waiver Updates

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is planning to simplify and improve the Level One and Self-Empowered Life Funding (SELF) waivers to advance self-direction and community integration. The goal of this project is to provide increased flexibility, autonomy, and choice for Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families through the services in each waiver.  The services available in the waivers should meet each person and family’s individualized needs and preferences while sustaining an efficient, equitable, and effective support system. Learn more about DODD’s waiver simplification plan on their website.

To provide feedback about Ohio's Level One and SELF waivers, click here to take a survey. Your feedback will be shared with the Waiver Workgroup and help inform future decisions.

Additionally, DODD is partnering with advocacy and family organizations to host town hall opportunities for people with disabilities and their families to provide feedback about the improvement and simplification of the Level One and SELF waivers.
