Advocacy Summit is Sept. 30

Neighbors in Action is excited to celebrate advocacy at their first Advocacy Summit!

“I think it’s important for communities like Neighbors in Action to come together and advocate together for causes, rights, and actions,” said Amy Hayden, a member of Neighbors in Action. “We learn together to speak for ourselves and others to make an impact in the world.”

The Advocacy Summit includes a lasagna and salad dinner, a bake sale, games and activities, and the John Romer Advocacy Award presentation. Read more about the winners in this article

Neighbors in Action, often referred to as NIA for short, is a local advocacy group that is independent from Hamilton County DD Services. Amber Cowart, HCDDS Advocacy Coordinator, works with and supports NIA. “The group, what they do, and how they operate is all decided and executed by the advocates themselves,” Cowart said. “We hope people join us for this great event to learn more about advocacy, meet new people, and have fun!”

Join Neighbors in Action from 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at our Kingsley building in Madisonville, 5093 Kingsley Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45227. The night includes a lasagna and salad dinner, a bake sale, games and activities, and the John Romer Advocacy Award presentation. Read more about the winners in this article
