Keeping people we support healthy and safe is our highest priority. The Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services’ Major Unusual Incident and Prevention team investigates reports of abuse, neglect, theft and other incidents against people with developmental disabilities.
“We have nine investigators who work closely with law enforcement, providers, families, and victims with DD to determine what happened, ensure people are held accountable for crimes, and implement safety plans to prevent similar incidents in the future,” said Jennie Flowers, director of the Hamilton County DD Services MUIP team.
In 2018, our team investigated 1,127 reports and had a 77 percent substantiation rate among the most serious incidents.
