HCDDS will host grand opening events in June for two new housing projects. Both projects, one in Madisonville and one in Spring Grove Village, address critical housing gaps in our community.
The Madisonville project, pictured at the top, is known as Bramble House and will provide housing for 16 people with disabilities for whom it is difficult to find a place to live in the traditional housing market. This substantial investment in the community ensures people with disabilities have a safe, affordable, and accessible place to call home.
Our partner on these two developments, the Housing Network of Hamilton County, began extensive renovations at Bramble House last fall to provide updated, quality living spaces for the tenants. This building has a new HVAC and sprinkler system, as well as several accessibility improvements, including a ramp from the building to the sidewalk. Construction is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
The Spring Grove Village project on Hand Avenue, pictured second, will be known as Alice’s House, in honor of former superintendent Alice C. Pavey. Alice’s House will provide both planned and emergency respite housing options for families in Hamilton County. This location includes two single-story buildings, each with four accessible one-bedroom units, and a shared courtyard between the buildings. Alice’s House will open in the coming weeks.
These projects reflect the commitment we made in our Strategic Plan. As part of our dedication to innovative solutions, we pledged to support creative and inclusive housing options. Both developments will be licensed settings owned by the Housing Network with HCDDS serving as the license holder. Total Homecare Solutions will operate Bramble House and ViaQuest will operate Alice’s House.
HCDDS is excited to work with these partners to ensure high-quality supports, respond to critical housing gaps in our community, and provide more housing options for people with disabilities and their families in Hamilton County. We’ll share details about the grand opening celebrations soon.
